The House That Sings

Between the calming crash of surf on the beach, tropical birds flying throughout the lush jungle around you, and the sound of relaxed guests floating in out of this world-renowned resort, there’s little wonder why it was named La Casa Que Canta, or the house that sings. Even the award winning architecture and cuisine seem to generate a sort of jubilant melody, at least on a metaphysical level.

Located smack dab in the center of Zihuatenjo Bay and carved into a large promontory, every inch of La Casa – as we’ll call it for short – commands unbelievable views of the Pacific. And if, god forbid, you were to ever become bored with the endless beauty of the deep blue pacific and rolling green mountains, you need only look over your shoulder at the resort itself.

Praised by guests and travel critics alike, La Casa is truly an architectural dream. Luxurious and extravagant without being pretentious, the resort is composed of several tiers, which hug the promontory and are inspired by traditional Mexican design. From the beach, to the restaurant, to the master suites on the very top, this resort, to be almost obscenely humble, is very easy on the eyes.

But hey, don’t take this blogger’s word for it. Over the years travel magazines and critics from around the globe have also been inspired to sing their praises for La Casa Que Canta. In 2003 it won “Best Rooms in the Americas” by Conde Naste. In 2007: Travel and Leisure’s “World’s Best Service.” Most recently it received the Readers Choice Award in 2010 from Andrew Harper Travel.
